I am going to a concert in 22 days. It is one of my favorite bands and I am absolutely thrilled to get to see them perform live. One of my friends made me a countdown the day after we bought our tickets (March 12th) that was 67 days before the show. This countdown is posted right above my desk and everyday I get to cross off another day. This has made me appreciate how much I enjoy having something to look forward to.
Usually my light at the end of the tunnel is a lot less impressive than a weekend in Canada and a concert. But just having something to look forward to is really important. It motivates me to see things in a different light and get my work done because I know that there will be a break soon. Often my anticipation lies in something as simple as dinner with a few friends or knowing that I will be able to enjoy a walk with my boyfriend shortly.
Noticing the small details in life and taking appreciation of them is important. There are times where big, momentous events are not on the agenda and this is okay--it teaches us to appreciate the small moments which add up to our entire lives.
Today I am appreciating that I have goals and dreams and events and people in my future who make me really excited to be living the life that I am so grateful to have.
